For nearly three years, I’ve been sharing stories of survival, hope, and love launched from the word mother, a ubiquitous term that is so deeply rooted in all of our becomings. This universal topic, the influence our mother’s story has on our own life, has caught on with so many, and in many ways, this conversation has no limits. I truly believe if you want to get to know someone, ask them about their mother.
Today, my own book is available! I put my heart and soul into. I bled at the keyboard for years. I worked with some of the greats in the industry to ensure my first book was truly the best I could do at the time.
The memoir is written for you to show you the power our mothers and maternal lineage have on the shape of our lives to also show you that everyone has a story to tell every story, no matter how ordinary or not has value.
Your Support Matters
First, a heartfelt thank you to all of our listeners. You’ve helped About Your Mother rank in the top 10% of all podcasts, and that’s with very little marketing. Nearly three years have passed with stories of survival, hope, and love born from the idea of “mother”—a term that holds profound significance for each one of us. If you want to truly understand someone, ask them about their mother; it’s a conversation limitless in its reach.
Now Available: Both Sides of Then
I’m excited to announce that my book, Both Sides of Then, is now available. This memoir embodies years of hard work and collaboration with industry greats to ensure it was the best I could deliver at the time.
Here’s where I ask for your help: let’s make my mom a bestseller. My guests on the podcast have bravely shared their vulnerabilities and experiences, which in turn encouraged me to put my story into the world. Their first-person narratives have shown me the power in creating a community.
The journey towards sharing my story, and that of my mother, has been thrilling and terrifying. This memoir reveals how our mothers and maternal lineage shape our lives, an aspect often overlooked but crucial for understanding ourselves.
After a publisher’s urging, I found the courage to include my personal story alongside my mother’s. This book is raw and honest, facing life’s shadows with hope. It’s about love—painful, forgiving, and ultimately, accepting. Our life decisions scaffold who we are, intertwining family, friendships, and personal growth in a journey of self-discovery.
If you’ve enjoyed this podcast, I want to ask for your support in the release of this book. Would you purchase the book or share it with a friend and help make my mom and her story a best seller? Thank you so much for your support!
